The Delhi government has approved the development of seven new metro corridors as part of the Phase V(B) extension plan, with a total cost of approximately ₹48,205 crore (roughly $5.8 billion USD). These corridors will cover about 97.16 km and include 65 stations, significantly enhancing connectivity in densely populated regions such as Narela, Najafgarh, and Nangloi. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that this project will facilitate balanced urban development across Delhi. The corridors include Dhansa Bus Stand–Nangloi, Central Secretariat–Kishangarh, and others, with completion targets for four priority corridors set for 2029. The proposal will be sent to the Central government for further approval, with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) preparing revised Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for both priority and non-priority corridors.
