On Monday, a Nashik court denied interim anticipatory bail to Nida Khan, a 26-year-old employee at a Tata Consultancy Services-linked BPO, amidst allegations of sexual abuse, harassment, and religious coercion at the workplace. The court, presided over by additional sessions judge K G Joshi, has scheduled a further hearing for April 27. Public prosecutor Kiran Bandbhar, representing the Special Investigation Team (SIT), emphasized the sensitivity of the case and the trauma experienced by the complainant. Khan's legal team argued for bail on health grounds, noting her pregnancy and asserting that the communications in question were casual and not intended to offend religious sentiments. Despite these arguments, the court ruled against granting interim protection, allowing police to proceed with her arrest. In total, nine FIRs have been filed against eight employees, with seven already arrested. The police have formed teams to locate Khan, who has not yet been taken into custody.
