In a recent incident in Ludhiana, Punjab, two men, Qasib Ansari and Shebag Yadav, were arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from Deepak Kumar, a 20-year-old grocery shop owner. The incident occurred on April 16 in the Focal Point area when three men on a motorcycle snatched Kumar's phone. Upon hearing his cries for help, local residents chased the suspects, managing to catch two of them while the third fled. The captured men were reportedly beaten by the locals before being handed over to the police. An FIR has been filed under Sections 304 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
