During the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)'s Annual Business Summit 2026, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called for increased investments in the state's burgeoning aerospace sector, particularly in Puttaparthi, located 150 km from Bengaluru. He highlighted the state's goal to generate 150 GW of renewable energy, with 90 GW currently under development. Naidu reported that Andhra Pradesh has successfully attracted ₹23 trillion (approximately $276 billion USD) in investments over the past 23 months, which is expected to create 2.3 million jobs. In a bid to counter the state's low fertility rate of 1.5, below the national average of 2, the government has introduced financial incentives for couples having more children, providing ₹30,000 (roughly $360 USD) for a third child and ₹40,000 (around $480 USD) for a fourth child. Naidu also emphasized the importance of energy self-reliance, urging industries to generate their own power and reduce dependence on external sources. He announced a planned reduction in power tariffs by ₹1.20 per unit, following a previous cut of 30 paise last year. Naidu's vision includes leveraging advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing to drive future economic growth.
