In a significant development, police in Payal, Punjab, apprehended three individuals in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on April 14 at the shop of trader Harish Chandar in the Grain Market. The main shooter, Umesh Kumar alias Sonu Chhanga, 24, attempted to escape by jumping from a building, resulting in a leg fracture. He was arrested near Sangam Palace. Alongside him, his 18-year-old brother Laksh and cab driver Gurwinder Singh alias Goldy were also taken into custody. The shooting is believed to be part of an extortion scheme orchestrated by gangster Doni Bal. Investigations revealed that details about the trader were allegedly passed on by Saudagar Singh to his sons, who are reportedly based in Australia.
