In a unique collaboration, seniors from Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Illinois, partnered with kindergarten students from Grand Prairie Elementary School to create children's books. The AP Literature students wrote the stories while the kindergarteners illustrated them, fostering a creative bond between the two age groups. Senior Gabriela Tsoukatos expressed nostalgia, noting how impactful her own kindergarten experience was and how it felt to help younger students now. Classmate Alexander Hendel highlighted the challenges of writing for a younger audience and the importance of collaboration in the project. The initiative, guided by AP Literature teacher Amy Cavanaugh, allowed students to apply their literary skills in a real-world context.
