The Delhi Police's Crime Branch has arrested Praveen Kumar, a 45-year-old operative linked to a transnational arms trafficking and terror module. Kumar is allegedly connected to gangster Rohit Chaudhary and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He was apprehended by the Anti Robbery and Snatching Cell (ARSC) under various laws, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol made in Italy and five live cartridges from him. Kumar was previously wanted with a reward of ₹2 lakh (approximately $2,400 USD) for his arrest and had been under police surveillance for his involvement in organized crime. Investigators revealed that Kumar was procuring firearms after securing bail and had previously collaborated with co-accused Nishant Arora in jail. The police have arrested a total of 14 individuals in this case, recovering 25 foreign-made weapons and 221 cartridges so far. The investigation indicates that the network operated across state borders with international connections, and efforts are ongoing to trace the entire supply chain and financial trail.
