The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that 668,854 regular candidates have registered for the Class 10 second board examinations, scheduled to take place from May 15 to May 21, 2026. Among these candidates, 474,491 have selected science as their subject for improvement, making it the most popular choice. In the first phase of the exams, which ran from February 17 to March 10, 2026, 23,16,008 out of 24,71,777 students passed, achieving a pass percentage of 93.70%. Students are allowed to improve their scores in up to three subjects, with the better score reflected in their final marksheet. The registration process for the second examination was conducted in three phases, concluding with a late fee submission. The results of the second exams are expected to be announced by the end of June 2026, after which final passing documents will be issued. Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj emphasized that this two-board exam system enables students to enhance their academic performance without hindering their progression to the next educational level.
