The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has introduced three new artificial intelligence courses through the SWAYAM Plus platform, part of the 'AI for All' initiative aimed at broadening access to digital skills. Announced by Prof. V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, these courses include 'AI for Aspiring Engineers', 'AI for Administrators', and 'Prompt Engineering', each tailored for specific audiences ranging from students to professionals. The 'AI for Aspiring Engineers' course focuses on Python, AI, and Machine Learning using engineering datasets, while the 'AI for Administrators' course helps professionals leverage AI tools for decision-making. The 'Prompt Engineering' course teaches effective interaction with AI systems. Registrations are open until May 10, 2026, and can be completed through the SWAYAM Plus portal. Course fees are set at ₹500 plus GST for the engineering course and ₹100 plus GST for the other two, making them affordable for a wider audience. The SWAYAM Plus platform has seen significant growth, with over 5.5 lakh learners registered and more than 92,000 registrations for previous AI courses.
