The Bihar Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, has approved a significant ₹4,717 crore (approximately $570 million USD) loan from the World Bank aimed at strengthening urban centers and fostering integrated urban economic zones. This initiative is expected to facilitate organized growth, rapid urbanization, and sustainable, climate-sensitive development in Bihar. Additionally, the cabinet approved an increase in the cash gap subsidy for operating 400 electric AC buses under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme, raising it from ₹203.2 crore to ₹517.16 crore annually over the next 12 years. A substantial ₹15,967 crore has been allocated for the maintenance of 19,305 km of roads, which will incorporate AI and Machine Learning technologies. Furthermore, the cabinet approved three erosion control projects along the Ganga river at an estimated cost of ₹174.63 crore, benefiting areas in Buxar district. Other decisions included transferring land for the Patna airport development and extending agreements related to educational institutions and finance commissions.
