In an early morning police operation on Thursday, two members of a nomadic gang, identified as Dharamveer alias Lambu (35) and Rajendra alias Pappu (55), were killed in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India. The suspects were wanted for their involvement in a dacoity that occurred on April 23, where they allegedly stole cash and jewelry worth approximately ₹20 lakh (roughly $24,000 USD) from a trader's residence. Following intelligence reports about their movement near the Yamuna Expressway, police teams laid a siege in the Surir area. When signaled to stop, the suspects attempted to flee, resulting in a shootout with police. Both suspects were injured and later pronounced dead at a hospital. The police operation also led to the recovery of some looted items.
