Tanuja Ranjan, aged 62, was discovered dead in her home in the upscale Prashasan Nagar area of Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, on Friday morning. The police suspect that the murder was committed by a domestic worker from Nepal, identified as Kalpana, who had been with the family for over a year. Tanuja was found unconscious in her bedroom with her hands and legs bound and a blood-stained cloth stuffed in her mouth. Medical reports indicate she suffered multiple abrasions and ligature marks, leading investigators to believe she was smothered to death. The incident is thought to have occurred around 2 am, shortly after Tanuja had spent time with her daughters. CCTV footage revealed three unidentified men entering the property around 1 am and leaving shortly after, carrying a bag believed to contain stolen items. The police have registered a case for murder and robbery and have formed ten teams to pursue leads in the investigation.
