The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a major revamp of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) in Pune, India, aimed at enhancing patient care and introducing super-speciality services. This initiative follows a surprise inspection by municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi, who noted the need for improvements in service efficiency and accessibility. The hospital currently offers limited super-speciality services, and PCMC plans to consult with private medical organizations and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to expand these offerings. Additionally, the dialysis unit will be significantly upgraded from 8 to 20 beds to meet increasing patient demand. Infrastructure issues, such as delays in lift modernization, will also be addressed, with instructions given to expedite the ongoing work. The administration is committed to strengthening healthcare services to better serve the community.
