In a tragic incident in Pata Pur village of Jajpur district, Odisha, one elderly woman has died and 58 others have fallen ill after consuming contaminated Dahi Bara from a roadside vendor. The incident occurred on May 3, with symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea manifesting shortly after consumption between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Family members rushed the affected individuals to nearby government hospitals, with 52 patients later transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment. Among the affected, 25 are children and 27 are adults. Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and local MP Dr. Rabindra Kumar Behera visited the hospital to assess the situation and discuss it with health officials. Investigations into the food poisoning case are underway, and health officials have reported that all patients are now stable, although some are experiencing mild fever.
