The Economic Offences Wing of Gurugram police arrested two directors of a shell company for allegedly duping a resident of ₹5.4 crore in two fake real estate projects. The accused, aged 60 and 40, misled the victim into investing in non-existent developments on land parcels in Silokhra, Gurugram, and Vaishali, Ghaziabad. These properties, owned by a deceased religious figure, are currently controlled by the Haryana government due to a lack of legal heirs. The accused promised the victim sale rights for 50 lakh square feet of commercial space for ₹450 crore but failed to provide any agreements. After the victim grew suspicious and investigated, he discovered the properties were disputed, leading him to file a complaint on April 15. An FIR was registered, and the case was subsequently handed over to the Economic Offences Wing, resulting in the suspects' arrest. They were presented in court and are now in police custody for further questioning.
