On Thursday morning, two suspected cow smugglers were injured in an encounter with the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team of Nuh police in Nuh district, Haryana, India. The police operation took place near a checkpoint along the Nuh–Tauru road, prompted by intelligence regarding suspicious activities. When the police, led by Inspector Sandeep Mor, intercepted a pickup vehicle believed to be involved in cow smuggling, the suspects attempted to flee, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The two individuals sustained bullet injuries to their legs and were identified as residents of Ghata village. They were promptly transported to Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College in Nalhar, where their condition is reported to be stable. In addition to apprehending the suspects, the police rescued two cattle and seized the vehicle used in the alleged smuggling operation. Superintendent of Police Dr. Arpit Jain emphasized the police's commitment to combating illegal activities, including cow smuggling, and stated that further investigations are underway to identify others in the smuggling network.
