On May 1, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, two police officers on patrol were assaulted by a group of four youths after they attempted to stop them from drinking alcohol in a public area. The officers, attached to the Amrutahalli police station, noticed the group consuming alcohol around 3 am near Akashavani Layout. When the officers intervened, one of the youths began to verbally abuse them, leading to a physical confrontation. The youths allegedly assaulted the officers, causing injuries, and fled the scene after stealing the officers' vehicle keys. Following the incident, the officers sought medical treatment and filed a complaint, resulting in an FIR against the suspects under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Two suspects have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
