Four days after the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) conducted maintenance work on the Khadakwasla pipeline network, many areas in Pune, Maharashtra, India, are still experiencing low water pressure and supply issues. The water supply was initially cut for two days starting last Thursday, but residents report that the situation has not fully stabilized. While PMC officials claim that most areas are receiving adequate water, local residents describe ongoing shortages. For instance, Ramesh Warule from Ambegaon noted that his area has seen weak supply since the disruption. In Narhe, residents reported worsening shortages, and Dr. Sachin Shirsagar from Padmavati mentioned that his clinic is struggling with water scarcity. Many residents, including Kunal Shewale from Bavdhan, have turned to private tankers to meet their needs. The disruption has particularly impacted daily-wage workers like Krishna Sharma, who are finding it difficult to manage their work and household water needs. The demand for water tankers has surged as summer temperatures rise, highlighting the ongoing challenges in water distribution across Pune.
