In a decisive operation against narco-terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested 806 individuals and seized 667 kg of drugs within a month. This initiative is part of the 100-day Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, launched on April 11, aimed at dismantling the financial networks supporting drug trafficking. Police attached 97 properties worth ₹41.85 crore and demolished 41 properties valued at nearly ₹15 crore. The Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, emphasized that the focus is on targeting the financial backbone of drug dealers, stating, "When a drug dealer's house built on blood money is razed, it sends a message." The crackdown also led to the registration of 724 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with a notable increase in activity compared to the previous year. Additionally, illicit poppy and cannabis cultivation spanning 117 kanals was destroyed, and action was taken against 151 drug stores for violations. The police also conducted 2,401 awareness programs, reaching nearly three lakh people to educate the public on the dangers of drug abuse.
