Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in 'shameful looting of votes' during the recent elections in West Bengal. Speaking at the party's headquarters in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, he claimed that the BJP misused police and administrative resources to manipulate the electoral process. Yadav described the BJP as a group of 'fake leaders' who lack faith in democracy, asserting that their primary agenda is to loot votes. He positioned the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections as a crucial battle for democracy and the Constitution, emphasizing that the Samajwadi Party's coalition of Pichhda, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (PDA) communities holds a significant advantage in the state. Yadav expressed confidence in the party's ability to effect change in Uttar Pradesh and outlined plans for social welfare, including free medical treatment for the poor and support for women through a proposed 33% reservation. He urged party members to prepare diligently for the elections, maintain decorum, and closely monitor voter lists to prevent manipulation by the BJP.
