Once victims provided their credit card details, the accused used the information to purchase gold and silver coins through quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto, which were then delivered to random addresses and later sold. The police acted on a tip-off and discovered the fraudulent operation on Tuesday, recovering three mobile phones and two coins linked to the crime. The arrested individuals had a history of financial fraud, with over 20 complaints registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal from various states. They are now facing charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
