On Saturday, Pune police detained 20-year-old Gopal Balramsingh Rana after he attempted to steal a bus belonging to the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) from the Dengle Bridge bus stand in the Deccan locality. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM, when Rana drove away with the bus, creating panic as he drove erratically, sometimes on the wrong side of the road. Police noticed the suspicious behavior of the bus and initiated a chase. They managed to intercept the vehicle at a traffic signal near Goodluck Chowk. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported during the incident, and the bus was safely returned to the depot. Senior police inspector Girish Dighavkar stated that further interrogation of Rana is underway, as he was reportedly uncooperative. Authorities are also investigating the possibility of Rana being mentally unstable, pending a medical examination. A case has been registered, and investigations continue to uncover the motive behind this unusual incident.
