The Punjab Police have launched an investigation into a significant terror conspiracy linked to the recent blast at the Patiala freight corridor. This investigation has revealed connections to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and pro-Khalistan operatives. In a joint operation involving the Patiala Police and the State Special Operations Cell, a cache of military-grade explosives was seized from Panjwarh Khurd village in Tarn Taran district, Punjab, India. The recovered items included a rocket-propelled grenade, RDX explosives, and a metallic improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 2.296 kg. The operation was initiated following information provided by Satnam, the brother of the prime accused Jagrup Singh, who died while allegedly planting an IED on the railway track. Investigations have indicated that the terror module is backed by a Malaysia-based entity, with financial support flowing through Malaysia. The handler, known as Jujhar Singh, is linked to individuals in the US and Pakistan, suggesting a complex international network. In light of these developments, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu announced that railway security would be bolstered with continuous patrolling and enhanced surveillance to prevent further attacks.
