The fourth edition of the bilateral diving exercise, IN-SLN DIVEX 2026, took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from April 21-28. This exercise involved the Indian Navy's Diving Support and Submarine Rescue Vessel, INS Nireekshak, and diving teams from the Sri Lankan Navy, emphasizing enhanced operational coordination. The focus was on complex underwater operations, aiming to strengthen interoperability between the two navies. Key activities included advanced deep-sea diving drills, with divers successfully executing dives beyond 55 meters. The exercise also featured community engagement activities, such as a beach clean-up and friendly sports events, to foster camaraderie. Furthermore, two BHISM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita and Maitri) cubes were handed over to enhance disaster response capabilities. The event symbolizes the enduring maritime partnership between India and Sri Lanka, aligning with the vision of MAHASAGAR, which promotes peace and security in the Indian Ocean Region.
