In Chennai, a 28-year-old man named Nandakumar was arrested for abducting his ex-girlfriend at knifepoint. The incident occurred when the woman, a 22-year-old from New Perungalathur, was waiting for a taxi to go to work. Nandakumar forced her into a vehicle and threatened her with a knife. Fortunately, the taxi driver noticed the suspicious behavior and alerted police stationed at the nearby Maduravoyal toll plaza. Officers quickly intervened, rescuing the woman and detaining Nandakumar, who was found with the weapon used in the crime. This was not the first incident involving the couple; Nandakumar had previously assaulted the woman, leading to his arrest in March, but he was released on bail in April. The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
