In a shocking incident in Keonjhar district, Odisha, Jeetu Munda brought the skeleton of his deceased sister, Kalra Munda, to the Maliposi branch of the Odisha Grameen Bank in an attempt to withdraw ₹20,000 from her account. Jeetu, an illiterate tribal man from Dianali village, had previously visited the bank multiple times but was told to bring the account holder for the transaction. Frustrated by the bank's insistence, he exhumed his sister's skeleton as proof of her death. Upon learning of the situation, Patana Police Station Inspector Kiran Prasad Sahu intervened, explaining that Jeetu was unaware of legal procedures regarding account withdrawals after a person's death. Authorities confirmed that Jeetu is the only claimant to the funds, as the designated nominee in Kalra's account had also passed away. The local Block Development Officer, Manas Dandpat, stated he was unaware of the situation and would work to resolve it. Following police intervention, Jeetu was assured that he would soon be able to access the funds, and the skeleton was reburied respectfully.
