Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh announced that the state has transformed from a financial crisis in 2017 to a revenue surplus status. He recalled that when he assumed office, no bank was willing to lend to the state due to its dire financial condition. Since then, Uttar Pradesh has significantly increased its revenue, particularly from excise, which rose from ₹12,000 crore to approximately ₹62,000-63,000 crore. Adityanath emphasized the completion of major infrastructure projects, such as the Ganga Expressway, valued at ₹42,000 crore, without relying on bank loans. He criticized previous administrations for financial mismanagement, citing the incomplete Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre project as an example. The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of fiscal discipline and transparency in recruitment, noting that women now make up a substantial portion of newly appointed auditors. Adityanath stated that government initiatives have created employment opportunities for around 3 crore people in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
