On Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis approved a series of infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing urban development in major metropolitan areas including Pune, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Nagpur. At the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority meeting, a budget of ₹4,628.85 crore for the fiscal year 2026-27 was approved, with significant allocations for infrastructure developments such as ring roads, metro projects, and the Katraj-Yerawada twin tunnel. Fadnavis emphasized the need for a structural development plan within six months, based on thorough field assessments. In Nashik, a budget of ₹236.07 crore was approved, focusing on phased town planning schemes along the proposed Nashik Ring Road. Furthermore, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's meeting resulted in approvals for land acquisition and enhanced financial powers for project implementation. In Nagpur, plans for an outer ring road and an International Business and Financial Centre were greenlit, with funding to be supported through HUDCO loans. These initiatives are set to strengthen infrastructure and promote sustainable urban growth across Maharashtra.
