On Tuesday, Gurugram police, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and district administration, demolished a seven-storey building in Kanhai village due to its connections with local narcotics networks. The structure, which was illegally constructed in 2024 on approximately 124 square yards, had around 35 rooms and was operating as a paying guest facility, housing nearly 40 residents, including families, professionals, and students. The accused, a resident of Kanhai village with a history of narcotics offenses, charged ₹8,000 (about $96 USD) from each tenant, generating an income of approximately ₹2.8 lakh (around $3,400 USD) monthly. The operation involved more than 150 police personnel and heavy machinery to ensure the demolition proceeded smoothly.
