This event is one of the largest literary gatherings globally, attracting over 600,000 visitors and featuring more than 2,000 activities across 20 pavilions. The India Pavilion was inaugurated by Colombia’s Minister of Culture, Yannai Kadamani Fonrodona, and India’s Ambassador to Colombia and Ecuador, Vanlalhuma. Organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Embassy of India, the pavilion spans 3,000 square meters and showcases Indian literature, art, and culture through over 100 events. The pavilion's mascot, inspired by Kalighat art, symbolizes intergenerational storytelling, while its design incorporates elements from Indian architecture. Notable highlights include the launch of over 50 Indian children’s books translated into Spanish and daily cultural performances, including traditional Indian dance forms. This initiative aims to strengthen literary and cultural exchanges between India and Latin America, fostering a deeper understanding of Indian culture.
