Born to Fred and Lily Aspinall, he experienced significant historical events, including both World Wars and the reigns of four British monarchs. Aspinall married Constance Nellie Cheadle in 1944, and they had two children, Heather and Marcus. After Constance's untimely passing in 1963, Aspinall continued to raise his family. He is survived by his son Marcus and eight grandchildren, with his grandson David sharing heartfelt tributes about his grandfather's influence.
