The JEE Advanced 2026 exam saw participation from over 14,000 students in Bihar, with nearly 9,000 candidates taking the test at 18 centers in Patna. The examination was conducted in two shifts, with Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 noon and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Many students found the mathematics section in Paper 1 to be particularly challenging, especially with topics like coordinate geometry and vectors carrying significant weight. Conversely, questions on Integration were fewer than anticipated. In Paper 2, physics was described as lengthy and heavy on calculations, focusing on topics such as ray optics and rotation. Chemistry was considered easier by comparison. Shashank Shrivastava, a student, expressed that the overall difficulty of the paper would depend on the accuracy of their answers against the answer keys. Former Bihar DGP Abhyanand noted that the negative marking was less harsh this year, while physics questions were tougher than in previous years. Physics expert Anand Kumar Jha indicated that the performance in these subjects would likely influence student rankings, suggesting a marginal increase in cutoff scores compared to last year.
