The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 is being conducted today, May 17, with Paper 1 scheduled from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates must attend both papers to qualify for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). IIT Roorkee, the organizing body, has implemented strict guidelines prohibiting electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, and calculators, as well as printed materials and metallic items. Candidates are encouraged to wear light clothing and open footwear to facilitate thorough security checks. Those with articles of faith should arrive early for additional screening. Each candidate is required to bring their own writing instruments, while a transparent water bottle is allowed. A scribble pad will be provided during the exam, which must be returned before leaving the examination hall. The admit cards, released on May 11, contain essential information including exam center and reporting time. The previous year's exam, conducted by IIT Kanpur, had a pass rate of 22.7% for female candidates, with 9,404 out of 41,337 qualifying.
