The Global Sumud Land Convoy, aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, was dissolved in Libya after ten activists were arrested at the Sirte crossing. The convoy, which consisted of 200 participants and 30 vehicles, faced bureaucratic obstacles and violence, leading to its disbandment. The activists were detained while negotiating with eastern Libyan authorities, who stated that the group had not completed legal entry procedures. The Government of National Stability (GNS) assured that the detainees were receiving care according to humanitarian principles but emphasized that border crossings were restricted to Libyan and Egyptian citizens. The convoy had attempted to negotiate with the GNS to allow the Libyan Red Crescent to deliver the humanitarian aid. GSF reiterated its commitment to continue its efforts until the blockade on Gaza is lifted, stating that inaction is complicity in the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
