The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination, which was scheduled for May 3, following a paper leak incident. In a statement, the NTA indicated that this decision was made after consultations with central agencies and law enforcement authorities. To maintain the integrity of the examination process, the NTA will conduct a re-examination, with dates to be announced later. The agency reassured candidates that their registration data, including examination centres, would be preserved, and no new registrations would be required. Additionally, candidates will not incur any extra fees, as previously paid fees will be refunded. The NTA emphasized its commitment to transparency and integrity, acknowledging the inconvenience this decision may cause to candidates and their families. It is also cooperating fully with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the investigation.
