Prateek, who distanced himself from politics, was known for his entrepreneurial ventures in real estate and fitness, including founding gyms. He held an MBA from Leeds University in London, United Kingdom. Prateek was the half-brother of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. His wife, Aparna Yadav, transitioned from the Samajwadi Party to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in January 2022, and has been active in politics. Recently, Prateek made serious allegations against Aparna on social media, claiming she had damaged family relationships and expressing a desire to divorce her. This unexpected death has left the Yadav family in mourning.
