Actor-politician Vijay met Tamil Nadu Governor RV Arlekar for the third consecutive day, asserting that his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), had garnered the necessary support to form the government. However, the Governor found that TVK was still short of the majority required in the 234-member Assembly. Vijay submitted letters of support from 117 MLAs, which included 107 TVK MLAs. Although TVK claimed to have won 108 seats, Vijay is likely to vacate one constituency, reducing the effective count to 107. Complications arose when AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran alleged that the signature of the AMMK MLA supporting TVK was forged. This led to a meeting between Dhinakaran and the Governor, where they accused TVK of horse trading. Additionally, the VCK, an ally of the DMK, has not provided any formal support to TVK, despite reports of email communication.
