Adani Power, a major player in India's energy sector, reported a 52% increase in consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of FY26, reaching ₹4,017 crore compared to ₹2,637 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income also saw a 10% rise, amounting to ₹15,989 crore. The company's operational performance was solid, with Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) increasing 9% to ₹5,573 crore. The plant load factor (PLF) remained stable at 74%, reflecting consistent utilization levels. However, merchant and short-term sales declined to 5.2 billion units (BU) from 5.6 BU in the previous year, attributed to subdued demand in the spot market and increased renewable energy penetration. For the full fiscal year, total units sold rose to 99.1 BU, up from 95.9 BU in FY25, despite a drop in PLF from 70.5% to 66.5%. A significant development for the quarter was the awarding of a 1,600 MW long-term power purchase agreement from Maharashtra's distribution utility, expected to enhance revenue visibility and support capacity utilization in the future.
