Adani Power reported a remarkable 64% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹4,271.40 crore for the fourth quarter ending March 31, compared to ₹2,599.23 crore in the same quarter last year. The company's total income rose to ₹15,989.09 crore from ₹14,535.60 crore year-on-year, attributed to higher operational revenues and lower tax expenses. CEO SB Khyalia emphasized the importance of India's energy security amid global price shocks and highlighted the role of thermal power in stabilizing the grid while transitioning to renewable energy. The company is also progressing on several major projects, with significant expansions planned, including a total of 23.7 GW of thermal power capacity by 2032. Additionally, Adani Power has secured a Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd for a 1,600 MW power supply contract and signed a 558 MW Power Purchase Agreement with Tamil Nadu DISCOM, enhancing its operational capacity to 95% under long and medium-term agreements.
