In response to concerns regarding the Class 12 results, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented several measures following the introduction of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system this year. The pass percentage has dropped from 88% to 85%, prompting students to raise questions about the evaluation process. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, emphasized that the OSM system, first introduced in 2014, is not new and has been successfully reintroduced this year. To support students, CBSE has launched a tele-counselling helpline and clarified that students dissatisfied with their results can request verification of marks and access evaluated answer scripts. The application window for reviewing answer scripts will open from September 19 to 22. Additionally, to ease financial burdens, CBSE has significantly reduced revaluation and verification fees, charging ₹100 for viewing answer sheets and re-evaluation, and ₹25 per question for specific answer checks. If a student's marks increase upon re-evaluation, the fee will be refunded.
