Prateek Yadav, the half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav (chief of the Samajwadi Party) and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, died unexpectedly at the age of 38 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Hospital officials reported that they received information about his deteriorating health early Wednesday morning, and he was declared dead shortly after arriving at Civil Hospital. The exact cause of his death is pending the results of an autopsy. Prateek Yadav was the son of the late Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sadhna Gupta. Although he stayed away from active politics, he was engaged in business ventures, particularly in real estate and fitness, and was also known for his work with an animal welfare organization, Jeev Ashray, which focused on the rescue and care of stray dogs. He had completed his studies at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
