Prateek Yadav, aged 38, passed away at Lucknow's Civil Hospital on Wednesday. He was the son of the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, a prominent political figure and founder of the Samajwadi Party, and the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav. Hospital sources stated he was brought in unresponsive and was declared dead on arrival. Earlier this year, Prateek had announced on social media his intent to divorce Aparna, citing personal struggles and mental health issues, although reports suggested their relationship had improved recently. Unlike many family members, Prateek chose not to engage in active politics, focusing instead on his career as a real estate developer and fitness enthusiast. He held an MBA from Leeds University in the United Kingdom and was involved in animal welfare initiatives. Aparna Yadav, who married Prateek in 2011, has become a notable political figure, currently serving as the Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission after joining the BJP in 2022.
