On Wednesday, Pune city police and Ahilyanagar police detained Manisha Waghmare, a 46-year-old beautician from Pune, and Dhananjay Lokhande, a 26-year-old from Ahilyanagar district, in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Waghmare was apprehended in the Bibvewadi-Katraj area, suspected of acting as an intermediary between students and Lokhande, who allegedly couriered the NEET question paper to a student for ₹10 lakh (roughly $12,000 USD). The CBI is examining Waghmare's communications and financial transactions to determine the extent of her involvement. Lokhande was arrested after police tracked him to his village in Rahuri tehsil. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover the larger network behind the alleged leak.
