Ravinder, a 38-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) constable from Najafgarh in southwest Delhi, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident near the Bhondsi battalion headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana, on Tuesday night. The accident occurred between 10:30 PM and 10:45 PM as he was crossing the road approximately 200 meters from the entrance of the headquarters. Ravinder was on a 28-day earned leave and had reported to the transit camp in Bhondsi the previous day in preparation for his deployment to Jammu and Kashmir. Following the incident, BSF personnel, including a doctor and paramedics, provided immediate medical assistance and transported him to the civil hospital in Sector 10A, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Turan confirmed that CCTV footage revealed the vehicle was speeding, leading to an FIR being registered against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of Indian law for causing death by negligence and rash driving. The body was subsequently handed over to Ravinder's family after an autopsy.
