In Bokaro district, Jharkhand, police have apprehended five suspects in the murder of Baby Devi, whose body was discovered in the Jamuniya River on April 25. The victim had been missing since April 20, and her body was identified after a post-mortem at the DVC Hospital in Chandrapura. Bokaro Superintendent of Police Nathu Singh Meena stated that the murder was orchestrated by Guddu Barnwal, who had a previous acquaintance with Baby Devi, due to an old dispute. The investigation revealed that Barnwal paid an accomplice βΉ40,000 to carry out the murder. The suspects confessed to stuffing her body into a sack and disposing of it in the river to conceal her identity. Police recovered the vehicle used in the crime, which contained bloodstains and hair strands, along with six confiscated mobile phones that may provide further evidence.
