On April 25, 2023, a male body was discovered hanging inside a locked women's washroom at Inderlok Metro station in New Delhi. The police received a call reporting a foul smell from the closed toilet around 5:33 PM. Upon arrival, officers forced open the door and found the body of an unidentified male, estimated to be around 40 years old. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased may have been the caretaker of the washroom facility, as he had not been seen for at least two days prior to the discovery. The body was subsequently moved to BSA Hospital for preservation for 72 hours while efforts are made to confirm his identity. The police have initiated proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and further investigations are ongoing.
