On Wednesday night, Rafiq Ansari, a 56-year-old resident of Kheredih village in Giridih district, Jharkhand, was allegedly stabbed to death in a dispute linked to stone mining. The conflict reportedly escalated after a verbal argument with Jiyal Ansari, the accused, who attacked Rafiq with a knife, resulting in fatal injuries. Police arrived on the scene shortly after the incident, took the body for a post-mortem examination, and initiated a manhunt for the suspect, who fled the area. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Rajendra Prasad, indicated that the police are investigating all angles of the case while maintaining that the dispute over stone mining is a significant factor. Following the murder, tensions have heightened in Kheredih village, prompting police to increase patrolling and deploy additional forces to maintain order.
