At the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-II Conference in Haryana, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called for transforming the vision of Viksit Bharat into a mass movement, emphasizing that achieving a developed India by 2047 is a collective national commitment. He urged legislators to ensure that policies and welfare schemes effectively improve the lives of the poorest citizens. Birla highlighted the importance of public participation in strengthening parliamentary democracy and accelerating social progress, noting that legislative actions should reflect national priorities and the aspirations of the youth. Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh echoed these sentiments, stating that Viksit Bharat 2047 is not just an economic goal but a national mission requiring equal commitment from citizens and representatives. He also pointed out the significant contributions of northern states like Punjab and Haryana to national growth. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini discussed the need for innovative solutions to emerging challenges such as AI and climate change, linking them to public awareness and legislative leadership. The event also marked the inauguration of the Parliamentary Research and Information Centre (PRIC) at the Haryana Assembly complex.
