Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated that the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' is a national pledge that necessitates the active involvement of every citizen and institution. During the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference in Chandigarh, he emphasized the need for transformative policies that improve the lives of the marginalized. Birla called for a mass movement, or 'Janandolan', to inspire citizens to contribute toward building a developed India. He expressed confidence that with collective efforts, particularly from the youth, the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' could be achieved ahead of the target year of 2047. Birla underscored the importance of public participation in parliamentary democracy, asserting that increased engagement leads to social transformation and development. He also noted that a stable legal framework is essential for attracting investment, as it fosters trust among investors. The conference brought together presiding officers from 12 states to discuss vital topics related to public participation and the responsibilities of representatives in realizing the vision of a developed India.
