The Barapullah Phase-III flyover in New Delhi is on track to be operational by June 30, 2023. The Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the civil construction of the ₹1,635.03 crore (approximately $197 million USD) project, which aims to enhance connectivity between Mayur Vihar in east Delhi and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in south Delhi. This 9-km elevated corridor will provide a signal-free route, cutting travel time to about 15 minutes. The project, which has faced numerous delays due to land acquisition and environmental clearances, is now in its final stages, with only safety features, lighting, and signage left to be installed. Once operational, it is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters by alleviating congestion at critical traffic points, including Sarai Kale Khan and the DND Flyway.
